Vacating Property Cleaning Checklist
1. Floor Coverings
- All floors must be cleaned and stains removed
- Tiles and timber floors mopped
- Carpets must be cleaned - preferably professionally
- Skirting boards around all rooms to have dust washed off
2. Windows
- Glass and frames cleaned inside and outside
- Window/sliding door sills cleaned
- All window tracks clean and free from dust and bugs
3. Window Coverings
- Venetians blinds cleaned
- Curtains cleaned (refer to product tag cleaning instructions)
4. Bathroom
- All tiles cleaned, grout and ceiling mould free
- Bath/ shower and drain traps cleaned
- Toilets washed inside and out
- Vanity cleaned
- Exhaust fan and light fittings cleaned
5. Kitchen
- All cupboards washed inside and out
- Bench tops cleaned
- Oven (including trays and racks) and cooktop cleaned
- Dishwasher to be cleaned out including the edges inside and filter cleaned. We suggest a 'dishwasher cleaner' is used.
- Fridge cleaned, turned off and left open
- Exhaust fan/ rangehood filters cleaned
- Light fittings cleaned
- Pull out appliances from the wall and ensure the floor and sides are cleaned
6. Bedrooms
- Built in wardrobes cleaned, including doors and mirrors
7. Laundry
- Washer/ dryer filters cleaned, water tanks emptied
- Tub cleaned
- Walls and floors cleaned
8. General
- All light bulbs to be in working order and bug/ dirt cleaned from fittings
- Heat pump dusted on top and filters to be vacuumed
- External areas returned to the same condition as the beginning of the tenancy
- Gardens weeded and lawns mowed
- Garage empty and clean
- Council bins emptied and hosed out clean
9. Keys/ Other
- Keys for all locks and remote controls returned to property manager
- Appliance instruction guides remain at the property
- Any damage to the property must be attended to and put right before you vacate
- Remove your modem, but don't remove the ONT and its power cable
10. Furnishings
- Wash all kitchenware
- All included furnishings should be cleaned and washed where applicable
- Vacuum under all furnishings and under couch cushions
- Return kitchenware/ furnishings to pre-tenancy locations (see Entry Inspection in your Tenant Portal)
